A "Few" of the 100's of plants headed to the garden |
If you READ OLDER POSTS than you already know that we grow from seed almost every plant that goes into our 43,560 square foot garden. And, that means that over 400 pepper plants, with countless others such as tomato, tomatillo, herbs, salads, etc. are all started in flats from seed. Of course we also direct sow many of our summer and winter squash as well as pumpkins, corn, etc...
This year we have used a NO-Till system for virtually everything! Wow, talk about hard work. The bears have been so busy that they really haven't had time to keep up with this web site. The importance of conserving and improving our top soil can only help us to grow the best possible produce, and in turn help as many people as possible to eat better. Many big things are happening this year...the introduction of the high tunnel (think greenhouse without artifical enviromental controls ) and the expansion of the specialty produce line to include more Latin favorites, salad crops, and herbs. I'll try to keep you updated soon.
